6 Cheap Wigs for Scary Good Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner. If you don’t have a costume idea yet, you may be panicking. No need! You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have an amazing Halloween costume. The right wig can transform you into a whole new person in an instant. One year, my husband and I chose to dress up as Johnny Cash and June Carter. As a blonde, I needed a wig to fit the part. With a long brunette wig, I became a different woman. People actually had trouble recognizing me!

You don’t have to shell out a lot of money for a great wig either. Below, we’ve compiled a list of women’s Halloween costume ideas that you can pull off with a bargain wig!

Harley Quinn Costume Wig

Ever since the release of the Suicide Squad movie, Harley Quinn has been a Halloween favorite. To dress up as Harley, you'll need you need to put together a blue and white get-up that captures Harley's daring personality. You've got to get a baseball bat for a fun prop (or would it even be Harley?) To really become this character, you have to have her iconic platinum blonde pigtails. The Hollywood Honey by Forever Young in French Vanilla blonde is perfect in both color and texture. All you have to do is style the wig into pigtails and you’re done! If you are feeling really creative, you can use a couple of blue and red clip-in extensions to put your look over the top.

Cat Woman costume

A sleek black catsuit is so effortlessly sexy. It’s no wonder that Cat Woman is a popular choice when it comes to Halloween costumes. To copy Anne Hathaway’s Cat Woman, go with a long brunette wig. Javant by Vivica Fox is a beautiful lace-front wig that fits the bill. With your hair taken care of, you just need something black and skin tight to slip into and a cute cat woman eye mask. Think leather and maybe some fingerless black gloves. Don’t forget some cute cat ears and a tail!

Alice in Wonderland Costume Wig

We’re all mad here – for awesome women’s Halloween costumes, that is. Alice in Wonderland is a classic literary character and a super easy costume. A blue dress and a blonde wig will transform you into Alice. Put on some black and white striped stockings and black mary jane style shoes, also. Sugar Rush by Forever Young is a wig that’s full of volume and totally Alice. Top your wig with a black headband to complete the look.

This is the year of empowered women, and we love it. For Halloween, why not dress up as Cleopatra, the original girl boss? Fun fact: most historians believe Cleopatra often wore ornate wigs.  To follow in her footsteps, choose a fun wig to represent her. Tinsel Town by Jon Renau is a blunt black bob, complete with a bit of glimmer. It’s a definite head-turner, just like Cleo would have wanted.
